D7220 partial bony, D7230 partial bony with mucoperiosteal flap, D7240 complete bony, and D7241 complete bony with unusual complication each require documentation of impaction depth with intraoperative findings (osteotomy required, sectioning required) and radiograph correlation. Specialists capture the operative note language pre-submission so the claim posts at the correct impaction code, not the lower-paying D7210 erupted extraction code.
How do you bill implant placement with bone graft?
D6010 surgical placement of implant body and D7953 bone replacement graft for ridge preservation often run on the same surgical visit.
