What Is Apex EDI, and What Is Ensora Clearinghouse?

Apex EDI is a web-based claims clearinghouse that has processed insurance claims for medical, dental, optometry, chiropractic, and other specialty practices since 1995. Its signature is simplicity: the OneTouch claims process scrubs claims for errors in a single step before submission, and the portal handles batch claim submission, patient eligibility checks, claim tracking, online corrections, and electronic remittance advice. Pricing has long been a flat monthly fee for electronic claims rather than per-claim charges, and it connects to practice management systems from many different vendors, which is why so many small medical and dental offices route their claims through it.

The name on the door has changed. Apex EDI was acquired by Therapy Brands, and in April 2025 Therapy Brands rebranded as Ensora Health; the clearinghouse is now marketed as Ensora Clearinghouse. The old apexedi.com pages point to Ensora Health’s site today. The portal work itself, eligibility, scrubbing, submission, corrections, ERAs, is the same work under a new name, and this page supports teams searching either name.
