Where Do You Find Top-Rated Support for MediTouch, Now NextGen Office?
MediTouch, the cloud EHR and practice management system built by HealthFusion, was acquired by NextGen Healthcare’s parent company in 2016 and has been called NextGen Office since 2018. If your team still calls it MediTouch, this page is for you: dedicated HIPAA-trained specialists run your scheduling, eligibility, claims, posting, and denial work inside the system. Flat weekly pricing from $299 per FTE (volume based), with a trained backup included at no charge. Live in 14 days.
What Happened to MediTouch and HealthFusion?
HealthFusion built MediTouch as a cloud-based, browser-native EHR and practice management system aimed at small practices and medical billing services; at the time of its sale it was reported to be used by around 3,000 practices, ambulatory centers, and billing companies. In January 2016, Quality Systems, Inc., the parent company of NextGen Healthcare, completed its acquisition of HealthFusion for $165 million, with up to $25 million in additional contingent consideration.
On March 1, 2018, the product was rebranded: MediTouch became NextGen Office, NextGen Healthcare’s cloud EHR and practice management offering for small practices. The parent company itself adopted the NextGen Healthcare name that same year. The product did not disappear into a migration; it kept running under the new name, and long-time users still see traces of the old one, most visibly the login page, which continues to live at login.healthfusion.com.
So a practice searching for MediTouch support today is, in nearly all cases, a practice running NextGen Office. That distinction matters when you buy help: you want people supporting the current product reality, not a name from 2015.
The Work Your Team Does in NextGen Office, We Staff
Who Is This For?
MediTouch was built for small practices and billing services, and that is exactly who runs NextGen Office today: independent physicians, small multi-provider groups, and the billing companies that serve them. If your practice signed up in the HealthFusion era and simply kept going after the rebrand, your staff may still say MediTouch out of habit while working in NextGen Office screens. This service fits that practice, the new owner who inherited the system, and the billing service that took on former MediTouch clients and needs trained capacity without hiring.
Where Small Practices on NextGen Office Lose Time and Money
Notes and how-tos written in the MediTouch era no longer match the product’s current name and screens, so new hires learn by shadowing whoever is left, and habits drift from best practice.
In the classic small-practice setup, one office manager owns scheduling, eligibility, billing, and posting inside NextGen Office. Vacations, sick days, and resignations all become revenue events.
When the same person answers phones and checks coverage, pre-visit verification is the first task dropped, and the denials arrive weeks later where nobody connects them to the cause.
Unworked rejections, unposted remits, and aging balances build up quietly in a system designed to be run daily. The backlog is rarely visible until the month-end numbers land.
Front Office and Scheduling
Our team registers patients, keeps demographics and insurance entry clean, builds and maintains the appointment schedule, and makes confirmation and recall calls in your practice’s name. For a small practice, this is the difference between a front desk that greets patients and one that spends the day heads-down in data entry. A remote specialist owns the keyboard work; your on-site staff own the room.
Eligibility and Insurance Verification
We verify coverage before the visit, inside NextGen Office and through payer portals where needed, and enter plan detail correctly the first time. Skipped eligibility is the classic small-practice leak: it costs nothing on the day and plenty three weeks later. A dedicated specialist clears the eligibility list ahead of the schedule so the visit starts verified.
Claims and Billing
Can you outsource billing on the MediTouch lineage? Yes, into the system it is now. Dedicated billers work claims end to end inside your NextGen Office: charge entry, claim edits, submission and acceptance follow-up, rejection fixes, and resubmissions, with daily production reporting your manager can audit. MediTouch was built with billing services in mind, and its successor rewards exactly this kind of disciplined daily use.
ERA Posting and Reconciliation
We post electronic remits, work the exceptions that auto-posting cannot resolve, handle manual EOBs, and reconcile postings against deposits so your bank statement and your PM agree. Patient statements and small-balance cleanup run on a schedule instead of a someday list. Posting is where quiet errors compound; giving it a named owner keeps the ledger honest.
Denials and AR Follow-Up
Denials get triaged by reason code, routed to correction, records request, or appeal, and tracked to closure. Aging AR gets worked on a structured schedule, oldest and largest first, with payer calls made and documented in your system. Recurring denial causes get reported back to the practice so the pattern gets fixed at the source rather than re-worked forever.
Reports and Practice Admin
Someone on our team owns your reporting calendar: charges, payments, adjustments, aging, and the unbilled list, pulled on schedule and summarized in plain language. Administrative housekeeping, document filing, task follow-ups, and inbox triage, runs alongside it. Small practices bought MediTouch to see their numbers easily; we make sure someone actually looks every week.

MediTouch and NextGen Office: Frequently Asked Questions
Is MediTouch still available?
Not under that name. MediTouch was rebranded as NextGen Office on March 1, 2018, after NextGen Healthcare’s parent company acquired HealthFusion in January 2016. The product continues as NextGen Office, NextGen’s cloud EHR and practice management system for small practices.
What happened to HealthFusion?
Quality Systems, Inc., the parent of NextGen Healthcare, completed its acquisition of HealthFusion in January 2016 for $165 million plus contingent consideration. HealthFusion’s MediTouch product became NextGen Office; the old HealthFusion web address still hosts the product login.
Is NextGen Office the same as NextGen Enterprise?
No. NextGen Office is the cloud-based system for small practices, the former MediTouch. NextGen Enterprise is NextGen Healthcare’s larger platform for bigger ambulatory organizations. Our teams support practices on the NextGen family; we scope which system you run on the strategy call.
Where is the MediTouch login now?
The NextGen Office sign-in still lives at the old HealthFusion address, login.healthfusion.com. If you can sign in, you are running NextGen Office, and our specialists can work inside it under credentials you approve.
Can you outsource NextGen Office billing?
Yes. Dedicated billers work claims end to end inside your system: charge entry, edits, submission follow-up, rejection fixes, ERA posting, denials, AR follow-up, and statements, with daily production reporting.
What tasks can a virtual assistant do in NextGen Office?
Patient registration, demographics and insurance entry, scheduling and recall calls, pre-visit eligibility checks, document filing, and administrative inbox triage. Anything administrative that happens inside the system’s screens, a trained remote assistant can own.
How fast can a dedicated team start?
Most teams go live in about 14 days: access setup, workflow training on your SOPs, then supervised production. The engagement starts with a 2-Week Free Trial.
Is outsourced work in our system secure and HIPAA-ready?
HIPAA-trained staff, executed BAAs, workflows designed to support HIPAA compliance, SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022, and $5M in coverage. Full detail on our security page.
