HealthFusion built MediTouch as a cloud-based, browser-native EHR and practice management system aimed at small practices and medical billing services; at the time of its sale it was reported to be used by around 3,000 practices, ambulatory centers, and billing companies. In January 2016, Quality Systems, Inc., the parent company of NextGen Healthcare, completed its acquisition of HealthFusion for $165 million, with up to $25 million in additional contingent consideration.

On March 1, 2018, the product was rebranded: MediTouch became NextGen Office, NextGen Healthcare’s cloud EHR and practice management offering for small practices. The parent company itself adopted the NextGen Healthcare name that same year. The product did not disappear into a migration; it kept running under the new name, and long-time users still see traces of the old one, most visibly the login page, which continues to live at login.healthfusion.com.
