Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Patient Services Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, handling prior authorizations, and providing multilingual patient support. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless patient experience, reducing no-shows, and optimizing provider schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Appointment Scheduling & Provider Assignment:
- Schedule patients with the appropriate provider based on their needs and availability.
- Direct patients who cannot be seen immediately to other physicians or physician assistants to ensure timely care.
- Conduct appointment follow-ups to minimize no-shows and optimize provider schedules.
- Manage a high volume of incoming calls (80-100 calls daily) efficiently to reduce voicemail reliance and improve patient experience.
Insurance Eligibility Verification & Prior Authorizations:
- Accurately verify Medicare, PPO, and HMO insurance plans.
- Handle prior authorization requests efficiently to reduce delays and improve patient access to care.
Multilingual Patient Communication:
- Provide patient support in English and Spanish as a standard.
- Accommodate Armenian, Russian, and Persian speakers based on expected patient volume.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage a high volume of calls while maintaining professionalism.
- Multitasking and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; additional language skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
