Job Description:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join our dynamic team.
- The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for listening to voice recordings made by physicians and other healthcare professionals and converting them into written reports.
- The role demands a high level of accuracy and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Transcribe medical reports, summaries, office visit notes, and other medical documents from recorded messages from healthcare providers.
- Review and edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software, ensuring that the transcription is correct, complete, and consistent in style.
- Interpret medical terminology and abbreviations in preparing patients’ medical histories, discharge summaries, and other documents.
- Comply with specific standards that apply to the style of medical records and to the legal and ethical requirements for keeping patient information confidential.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical transcription (CMT) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in medical transcription.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to interpret various accents, dialects, and dictation styles.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in MS Office and transcription software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
